1. During the last company visit, the company presented that it was quite sure that the VA over Chips per kilogram of PET film (12 micron corona) has reached about its lowest point (by comparing with 1999's 0.82USD it was at 0.83 USD then). However, a new low has been seen at 0.62 USD. How confident is the company/the management that the industry has seen its bottom already?
2. Because of the recent plummet of the share price, especially before the announcement of the Q1 operating results, some investors are concerned or begin to have doubts about the company's good governance. Is there any means by which the company/the management can boost the investor's confidence in this aspect?
3. After the land already purchased for the production of the Extrusion Coated Films and the investments that will be made in the production (10 Million USD for 2 lines of production), does the company have more plans to invest in other projects in the near future?
1.Where is the pet-film margin cycle, right now?. at the bottom or on the way to the bottom. people don't know the price situation they made a loss on ptl stock invesment.
2.Do your competiters still making money in this squeeze margin?
3.Does the margin at the Turkish plant go well as you expected?
1. As I understand, the low profitability at the moment is mainly due to three factors:
a) High raw material price which is directly porportional on high petroleum price,
b) The strengthening of Thai Baht and/or the weakening of USD
and
c) The oversupply situation in the global market.
My question is about part c) : can the company forecast when the oversupply situation will correct itself? Will the oversupply situation get worse? Are there still new factories and/or new production lines being set up around the world? Or are there already factories or production lines starting to close down (or starting to reduce production)?
5. What is the position of China in this industry at the moment? Can China pose a threat to the survival of PET film producing companies worldwide (like it has done to many other industries), especially to our group of companies? If it is still not a threat at the present, can it become a threat in the near or in the far future?
(Annual Report 2005-2006 Page 20 English Section 3.6.4.3 (i)...... Recently, a Chinese producer Cifu has also attained a capacity level of more than 100,000 tons.)
